Implementation of new ideas and other strategies is always where improvement gets bogged down and progess slows. One common thread among the schools discussed in chapter 6 of THE LEADER IN ME is common purpose and action. In interviews, representatives of every school featured talked about how the work on implementation of the leadership them brought the faculty together for a shared vision. When faculties can achieve this common bond and purpose, great things can happen at school for the students.
Getting faculties together for the same purpose and action is often difficult, but it is the key to improving school climate. When everyone can feel a part of the action, all are empowered and things begin to change.
ReplyDeleteStarting new programs or implementing new ideas, sometimes gets us out of our comfort zone. We must keep in mind that the focus of these changes is for school improvement. Faculties must work together as a team for the purpose of school improvement. We must try new ideas and strategies to help our students succeed.
